NOTE: This program will NOT be simulcast or recorded.

Making -- and responding to -- objections during trial can be a nerve-wracking experience, requiring quick thinking and broad knowledge at your fingertips. Senior District Judge Robert Blackburn, known for his encyclopedic knowledge of both the criminal and civil rules of evidence, as well as experienced federal trial attorneys Jeff Graves (Assistant U.S. Attorney), Timothy O’Hara (Assistant Federal Public Defender) and Gina Rossi (federal civil practitioner and member at Hall & Evans) will lead a panel discussion on strategies in making and addressing trial objections. The panel will discuss overused objections, underused objections, which objections are appropriate for motions in limine vs. in the moment, when a sidebar is appropriate, experts, Rule 26 objections in civil trials, and character/reputation evidence.
